This economical pochade box takes its name from the 19th century practice of making simple pochade boxes from cigar boxes. The hinged lid locks in any position through a 180º arc and is ½ in deep which will hold up to two 8"x10" panels. There is a universal tripod mount on the bottom so that this pochade box may be mounted on any standard camera tripod.

Rugged construction of strong, lightweight basswood laminate (no rainforest woods) with stainless steel and aluminum hardware (no rusting). Lacquer finish.

Holds 8x10 inch panels

Laptop, desktop, or tripod

Holds 2 wet panels in the lid

Extension clips let you paint on panels larger than 8x10

Comes with D-rings to attach a shoulder strap

Lid adjusts to any position through 180° arc.

Weighs only 2.25 lbs.

Overall dimensions: 12.5" x 10" x 3.25"

Bottom is 1.5" deep underneath the sliding palette

Removable divider in storage area under the sliding palette

Comes with a Universal Tripod Mount™ installed

"Yours is the only substantial source of supplies I’ve come across and I confess to browsing your catalogue frequently with childlike excitement - I marvel at how well you’ve thought out each product " - Alan, VT

Accessories for the Cigar Box™ include the Slip In Easel which allows you to paint larger or smaller, a fold out Palette Extension, carrying case, brush washer and brushes.

Looking for sets for the 8x10 Cigar Box™?
